De recentste Italiaanse studie over aspartaam is nu ook gepubliceerd in Environmental Health Perspectives (EHP), uitgegeven door the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.

http://www.ehponline.org/docs/2007/10271/abstract.html

Ik citeer even de conclusie van de gepubliceerde studie:

"The results of our second long-term carcinogenicity bioassay on APM not only
confirm, but also reinforce our first experimental demonstration of APM' s
multipotental carcinogenicity at a dose level close to the human AD!
.
Furthermore, the study demonstrates that when lifespan exposure to APM begins
during fetallife, its carcinogenic effects are increased.
On the basis of the present findings, we believe that a review of the current
regulations goveming the use of aspartame cannot be delayed.
This review is
particularly urgent with regard to aspartame-containing beverages, heavily
consumed by children."

Dear Mr. Kyprianou,

After having read the most recent study done by the European Ramazzini Foundation about the carcinogenicity of aspartame in rats, I am very concerned about the possible carcinogenicity in humans.

Its conclusion states:

"The results of our second long-term carcinogenicity bioassay on APM not only
confirm, but also reinforce our first experimental demonstration of APM' s
multipotental carcinogenicity at a dose level close to the human AD!.

The news has been spread that the Coca-Cola Company will stop using aspartame in it's Cola Light product and will use stevia instead, all over the world, where law grants its use. As a European citizen, I demand to have the freedom of choosing softdrinks containing stevia like many other citizens in other regions have this very same right. Today, a European citizen is prohibited from buying stevia-containing food products while not being informed about the probable carcinogenicity of aspartame.

Please take my concerns into consideration. I look forward to receive Your response.
